Lucy Haddock, Ed.D. Vice President of the Board of Directors and Director of Operations of Canine Commandos Inc.
lucyhaddock@caninecommandos.org

Lucy has been a part of the Canine Commandos team for seven years.  As an avid animal lover, she jumped at the chance to join the program when she first heard about it. In fact, she adopted her dog, Doug, during Brevard County’s first mega adoption event where Brevard ASAP was partnering with the host, SPCA.

Sharing the power of service learning and animals with other teachers, she has grown the program at Freedom 7 Elementary School of International Studies (International Baccalaureate program or IB) to include all sixth-grade students.  Many students under Dr. Haddock’s leadership within the program have gone on to volunteer at local animal shelters, written songs and poetry about their experience, created movies to share with others and more.  Lucy believes that Canine Commandos is such a great way to provide community service for her students which is part of the IB mission: to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. She involves her students to promote the Commandos through animal events and fundraisers many of which are K9 runs supporting other animal charities.

Wherever Lucy can make a difference with kids and animals, you will find her there!
